ANXIETY

The project is made up of two complementary pieces:

The first is a sculpture within the context of the gallery, in which we find a neon piece in which the word can be read, resting on a mountain of broken glass, in which the unsettling is real. Anxiety translates from English as anxiety or restlessness. This word has a logical meaning in this installation in the WIP space in Stockholm due to the particular location of the gallery: a neuralgic point on the outskirts of the city, a crossroads between Gothenburg and the capital.
The outdoor piece could be seen from the motorway coming from that city and from one of the train stops linking the two cities, a crossroads. Sala returns to the theme of contemporary society and non-place, linking it to his critique of the accelerated life and emptiness of today’s capitalist society.
