ENDGAME, WHITEBOX, NY.

EndGame, the fifth edition of WhiteBox’s quadrennial Presidential Election Exhibition Series, draws inspiration from Samuel Beckett’s unsettling portrayal of cyclic finality. This exhibition reflects on the resonances of history—moments that may not replicate but nonetheless echo with familiar urgencies. Set against the critical decisions defining the Republic’s 2024 presidential race, EndGame invites artists to present incisive reflections, engaging in a discourse that crosses borders to address socio-political and humanitarian issues with global reverberations. The exhibition serves as both a layered composition and a proactive expedition, using artistic forms to challenge threats to the common good. Its range of expressions speaks to pressing issues—from social inequality, the housing crisis, immigration, and institutionalized violence, to racial and gender tensions, nationalism, and environmental degradation. Each curator selects one to three artists to present medium-to-small-scale visual, literary, filmic, or performative works, encouraging an intimate yet wide-ranging engagement with these themes.
