The word is freedom.
At a critical moment in which our times are marked by the loss of freedoms, we turn to Maria Zambrano with one of her most powerful phrases. Freedom of expression is in danger, fascism reappears and we see ourselves, once again, trapped in increasingly limited spaces, freedom as resistance becomes crucial, culture as a watchtower to find an important place and from there resist against totalitarian discourses.
When you end up with freedom as freedom, it is distorted, manipulated, finally reaching a point of no return. This has happened with the term Democracy and is happening with Freedom. A tool of the ultra-right is to reuse the terms of libertarian discourses, to deactivate them.
Here we intend to recover that freedom as what it is, a space that, through words, seems to us like a treasure. Something to be defended.
