S.O.S (Paddle out)

A foundry surfboard as a paradox. It is a surfboard that sinks, black, because it is a surfboard in mourning that carries a coded message. We can read in Morse code three dots, three dashes and three dots; this message is directly linked to the piece located in the garden of the Centre del Carme: the green neon that also calls for a climate alarm.

On the other hand, there is a participatory action-performance S.O.S. (paddle out) which last Sunday in Las Canteras brought together some thirty surfers who launched a call for help regarding the situation of the seas and oceans. The artist has recreated for Biotopías 2, a PSJM project, a symbolic funeral of the Ocean working on a ceremony of surf culture: the paddle out. S.O.S. replaces the geometry of the circle with the word that warns about the emergency of watching over the seas and the life they shelter.
